In the heart of Yorkshire's 'Three Peaks' countryside, Giggleswick and the surrounding area offer plenty to see and do.

The neighbouring market town of Settle is just 1.5miles away from our self catering holiday cottages and offers a good selection of shops (from gifts, antiques and jewellers to award-winning butchers and bakeries) as well as restaurants/pubs and an excellent Tuesday market.

Venture a little further afield and Skipton (approx 18miles) offers more shops and a larger market every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday while the Lake District, Kendal, Lancaster and the seaside resorts of Morecambe and Blackpool are all easily accessible by car or train.

Giggleswick railway station is just 0.25miles away from the holiday cottages, offering regular connections to Lancaster/Morecambe or Leeds and there is a further train station, plus frequent buses running from the market place, in Settle.

If you enjoy the outdoors or want a good walking-base, Close House Cottages are ideal. TheThree Peaks (Pen-y-Ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside) are all close by, while the coves and tarns of Malham and the famous Ingleton waterfalls are just a ten-minute drive away, and there are a multitude of trails and tracks just waiting to be explored from the doorstep.

If you prefer a more leisurely break, why not take a ride on the world famous Settle to Carlisle railway  - an excellent way to take in the sights. The line was recently voted No2 in the ABC American News World's 10 Greatest Railways, second only to The Blue Train in South Africa. Steam trains along the Settle-Carlise and Leeds-Giggleswick-Morecambe lines are a frequent sight in the summer months.
